Producer Ilona Six started her career studying law. In 2001 Ilona Six founded, together with her brother Tom Six, film production company Six Entertainment Company. www.sixentertainmentcompany.com
She produced a Dutch feature film called ”GAY IN AMSTERDAM”. It caused a lot of controversy, being the first film about the gay scene in Amsterdam. It was released in 2004 and later released in the USA.
She produced the feature film ”HONEYZ” for a teenage audience. It was only the second film worldwide to be simultaneously released in theaters, on DVD, pay TV, internet and even on mobile phone.
In 2007 he produced the instant cult film I LOVE DRIES, about the famous Dutch singer Dries Roelvink who is being abducted by his biggest fans because they what his baby. As a novelty, the film was released in a number of famous restaurants/hotels ”Van der Valk” in 2008. The DVD with English subtitles is now available in the Six Ent Company shop “What the F**CK?!”.There are plans for an US remake.
In 2009 her first international English language film ”THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE – FIRST SEQUENCE” was released and has since became a worldwide cultural phenomenon. The film has been much discussed on US shows, including the primetime Emmy Awards, Funny or die, South Park, Parks and Recreation, 30 Rock, Howard Stern, Eli Roth, Quentin Tarantino,Metallica, guitarist Kirk Hammett, MTV Awards, Tosh.0, CNN, Comedy Central, Family guy, Beavis and butthead, Conan O’Brian etc. It was the first film in movie history that received no stars from Roger Ebert because “it was in a place where the stars don’t shine”.
The film led to thousands of internet spoofs, cat toys, tattoos, Halloween costumes etc.. In the US, ”THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE – FIRST SEQUENCE” was one of IFC Midnight’s biggest on-demand successes of all time, and continuously sold out midnight screenings nationwide. It won more than 11 international awards including the awards for “Best Horror Film” and “Best Actor” at Fantastic Fest 2009, “Best Picture” at the 2009 Scream Fest and “Most Memorable Mutilation” at the 2010 Scream Awards. The film has been released worldwide.
In 2010 the highly anticipated ”THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE 2 – FULL SEQUENCE” was produced and it premiered in 2011 as the opening film at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas. It made instant worldwide headlines when the BBFC banned the film outright in the UK claiming the film could potentially harm viewers. The controversy let to worldwide debates and major articles in the Guardian and The New York Times. Author Bret Easton Ellis described it as “the grossest movie ever made” via twitter. The film was pulled from Australian cinemas and banned under pressure from religious activists. The film has been sold worldwide.
In 2015 “THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE 3 – FINAL SEQUENCE” premiered in the Chinese Theater in Los Angeles. It completed the trilogy. Six Entertainment Company, together with Blitzkrieg Distribution released the complete sequence, with all three films connected into one movie centipede of 4,5 hours on Bluray in 2016.
Currently, she is working on the post-production of their newest controversial film “THE ONANIA CLUB”.
